Has any one seen one of there covers actually on T over the years? Kinda of neat if they would work. With the improvements in sealant’s over the years maybe leaking wouldn’t be a big issue.

I wonder what the purpose was for the large plug next to the magneto pickup.

You can service the back of the horn while you're at it...

The large plug was the access port for cleaning out the oil funnel. Hudson also made a nice set of c.c. repair arms ! And yes, they were called Hudco Covers.

I have one on my parts shelf - figured next time I pull the engine on the Centerdoor I'll install it - ever attempted a band change in a Centerdoor ? Not for the faint of heart !

I would think when these were made you would buy the cover and add your existing pedals and parts to the Hudson cover. But that’s a guess. I haven’t seen one over the years but I wasent looking for one either. Probably don’t show up to often if at all.

That makes good sense Steve. Interestingly, the fitted on in the initial post does not have it. It is an early starter car with the squared off tin can bendix cover, so perhaps the good idea came later.

Steve Ellis donated one to the MTFCA Museum this spring. Looked like it would make changing bands a snap but sealing it up would be impossible.

Farmer J, You must not have ever used Ultra Black? That'd be the perfect sealant, tough and flexible with super adhesion. I've toyed with the idea of converting one of my alum HH's since I've found them fairly easy to weld on? There is even less room for changing the bands on those.

I had one, put it on a TT for looks as I never had to change the kevlar bands. Sealing was not a problem as I used the felt from the band changing kit that I coated with silicone. Never leaked. Before modern sealants I'm sure it was a problem.
