I have a question about a Ford “Y” type spare tire carrier that I have. I am trying to figure out if it is for a 30x3 1/2” rim or for a 21” rim.
I know the easiest thing to do would be to try and mount a rim on it, but unfortunately I just got rid of my last set of demountables so I don’t have any right now for a size reference.
Does anyone know of a way to tell them apart? Could someone take some measurements of one they have for me?
Thanks
Ed

Re: Help With Spare Tire Carrier Identification
Looks like my 21" spare tire setup for a wood wheel. The leg at the bottom of the image curves down. Mine does that, and the rim fits perfectly. My my spare does touch the roadster body, so it might be for an enclosed car.

Re: Help With Spare Tire Carrier Identification
These are the 2 I have. I believe the one on the left is for a 30 x 3 1/2 and the one on the right is for 21 inch.
The one on the left measures 22 inches, and the one on the right measures 19 inches from one of the upper
holders to the bottom holder. Hope this helps.

Measured my 21" wood wheel spare Y carrier for you. Dimension from the highest point on one of the Ys, to the center of the stud on the lower arm, is just about 19.5". fits 26-27 coupe and roadster.
