Spark plug wires

The sparkplug wires on my Model T are orange or yellowish with black flecks.
I purchased them quite a while ago and they were pretty much all that was available at the time.
Now I see many T's with what looks like a blueish gray.
What color were the original Model T sparkplug wires?

My original 1924 has yellow with black tracer plug wires. I believe mine have never been touched. Still has the Ford script timer, FS coils, FS points, FS spark plugs. FS wiring harnesses.

My original 1924 has yellow with black tracer plug wires.

The color now is almost 100 years old. I expect it has faded considerably.

In this picture the plug wire in the 1917 Rip Van Winkle car appears to be solid color with no tracer. What color was it 105 years ago? Certainly darker. My guess is dark brown or black. I use black.

Did all the plug wires used in 19 years of production look the same? Lang's catalogue shows black for 1919-1925 and black with red tracer for 1926-1927. How accurate is that? How did they look before 1919? Have any original wires been kept in the dark for 100 years to preserve their color? Probably not. I doubt that we can know for sure.

If there is any good remaining evidence of original color, it will most likely be small patches under the crimped ends of the connectors. Even then, time, age, and heat do their thing...
