[image][/image]Today was the first time putting the top up on the 26 Touring.
I was able to get the top up but it doesn’t look right to me.
The side brackets are hanging down below the bottom edge of the fabric. Plus the edges of the fabric seem to be loose?
I’m hopping the attached pictures will explain better .

The second bow over the drivers head is not all the way up against the top. See if you can make adjustments and push it all the way up. Otherwise, not all installations are equal in quality. It's not unusual to see the frame on the side from poor installations or older tops that have shrunk.

I looked again, getting that second bow up will tighten the top and bring the side frame up behind the top. Nice car! I love driving with the top down, but I always put it up for storage, I think it will look better longer.

I think it's best to store the car with the top up, especially in colder weather. Putting a top down on a hot day and trying to put it back up on a cooler day can be a challenge. Putting a top down wet is not good, either. If the top gets wet when down, it ought to be put up and allowed to dry completely at the first opportunity.

Thanks guys,
This is a new to me car that had been restored years ago but never driven, think I may wait for a hot day and force the top up, hopefully it will snap into place.

Another thing to remember about putting the top up in cold weather is that in the Fall, mice like to come in and find cozy places to spend the Winter. A top left folded down is just that kind of nice place that mice like. If the top is left down, you might find holes in the top eaten by the mice.... and oh yes, that wonderful smell of stale mouse urine.

The preview button in your friend. Also, as the author of the post you can edit out those unrelated photos.

The top in the OP looks exactly like my '27. If the side bars were to move up, the brackets where the front of the top fit the windshield posts would bind and the back of the pivoting side bars would have to move downward. I think that the position of the bars is correct. I am not going to attempt to change the position on my "27.
