anyone coming from the Chicago area to Richmond, VA area?
Hi Folks, I have a rare Splitdorf coil box & coils that is in the Chicago area and needs to be transported to Richmond, VA. We hate to ship it as it's very delicate and most all the shipper in that area are notorious for destroying delicate packages. It will need to leave Chicago area in about a week (May 17th or thereabouts) and get anywhere near the Richmond, VA area in the following days. I'm happy to drive a few hours in any direction to meet up. Anyone head east from that area?

Hello Bob,
I am dropping off this 1939 Custom Merc in about (10) days or so in the Chicago area after Bakersfield Swap Meet.
Not sure yet where I will head to next after that - but if It end up traveling towards your way - I can help you out.

I may be going that direction (Roanoke, VA) in mid May. I will know more next week. I am located about 45 miles south of Chicago on I-55.

Thanks for the reply’s, but time is of the essence as I’m finishing the car & trying to get it ready for a show at the end of this month.

My schedule is really tight, but I'll be driving to Chicago April 30-May 1. I then fly commercial to DC May 21-24. Unfortunately TSA will make me check the coils (they cannot be carried on) and I fear the baggage handlers will not treat the box with care, but its an option.
