Those are plumb hens. Might be White Rocks or Rhode Island Reds.

That’s a great photo of taking care of the chickens! I’ll bet the girl in the picture wrung a chickens neck a time or two as time went by!
Kids these days would have a very hard time doing it these days!

Is that a wooden front axle on the car ? May be a Brush. My father ,born 1905, told me when he
was a kid of 6 or so he often used to wait by the dirt trace next to his father's store to get a ride in
a neighbor's Brush when he returned home from work.
