Looking forward for membership to post pictures and their stories of today's Homecoming event at the museum..... to share with membership that was unable to attend. Thanks from all of us who could not make the trip.

Weren't we lucky to have those folks in the early years Tim? I have to say I appreciate anyone willing to do those things. Those who do things now stay pretty busy doing what they do. It is hard to find youngsters with the talent and interest to keep things going let alone dealing with we who remember it differently. The forum is lucky to have members that dig up photos and history that is far beyond what most groups can find. I can only imagine the demands placed on the few willing to keep this club going.
We each pour our own personality into what we do and put it out there for others to interpret. Whether it be articles, photos or just the things we post. It all will be scrutinized differently.
I too remember the early contributions as perfect and wonderful. Imagine trying to find new and interesting things after all that has been presented.
I'm not sure there is a long line of people waiting to jump in and do things the way each of us would like so we had better take care of the ones willing to do it. I think they are pretty wonderful myself. There may be others who agree

Art, this posting topic is about Homecoming Pictures from Richmond. Your tirade is out of order.

I don’t do Facebook either and was unable to be in Richmond last week. But I’d be greatly entertained by pics from those fortunate enough to be there.

Wow, I'm really shocked about the negativity that was posted here.... In the past , members who attended took pictures and then posted them on the forum. It had nothing to do with any leadership in the club being responsible to post pictures it was strictly membership who attended either with their cars, with their parts, or even just visiting that posted pictures. Now is that too hard to ask for cooperation ????? ...... Oh yeah, I agree, we should look for pictures here on the forum and not on Facebook ... Or anywhere else. Did something verbally happen drastic at the museum grounds that changed any membership cooperation posting pictures or verbage on the forum ???? .... I'm sure that we'll see some pictures and stories in an upcoming Vintage Ford issue... But we always seem to enjoy postings and appreciate pictures taken by membership at our Museum events.

Thank you Jeff for being the first in membership to post pictures of this year's Homecoming .....It's hopefull others will follow your lead.

Here’s some shots from the museum

Allan, That Electric Blue Coupe is (I think) a 1917 Milburn owned by Jerry and Kim Kramer. The red Touring next to the Milburn Electric is a 1908 Northern also owned by Jerry and Kim Kramer. On the Northern, note the unusual headlights mounted on top of the front fenders.
I was there but was tied down selling used parts and tools owned by the Museum and excess to our needs.

All in All, it was a very good turnout. Lots of nice Model T's and lots of people. In my opinion, the Swap Meet was quite successful with something like 25 to 30 vendors with only Model T parts.

Folks - my sincere apologies for not posting the( not so good) photos I took at Homecoming. If the transfer over works.
I did see this request - so Yes - the Forum is reviewed. And hoped someone had some decent pics.
You see, the Staff of only one full time paid person, along with the very few who volunteered this year to work was relatively busy from 0530 until after 1600 (4:00 pm).
I usually get a lot of photos - rather than be concerned that someone is buying souvenirs at the lil club house.
My priority, as was the other Directors there, was on the event, attendees and vendors - and unfortunately not on taking photos this year. It takes a lot behind the scenes to pull off this event and during the event to ensure things are going as smoothly as possible.
The Vintage Ford Editor took photos that will be in the upcoming magazine.
So maybe those here voicing concern, especially those not members of the MTFCA, would join and volunteer next year - help us make it another great event. And take pictures.
Rachel, the Exec Director, did an awesome job putting this together. The Tour guides, Jerry Kramer and Mark Atkins, led a fun group off through the fields to antique stores and more. Jamie Maxwell cutting wood with the T, Scott Rosenthal discussing the 1912 Town Car, Mark Atkin's and George Akins' seminars were all wonderful, along with the Greater St Louis Chapter with the Model T Assembly Team - bolting and driving it.
I thank those that did get a chance to take some great photos of the day and post them here. And I know those who worked this event appreciate the words of support.

I did not know that Jerry and Kim Kramer had a 1908 Northern! That looks like the big two cylinder model touring car? Didn't recall the electric either.
I am not familiar with their Northern, however, got up close to a similar one some years ago. Fascinating car, and the pictures do not do it justice. If it is the two cylinder model? They were one of the largest two cylinder automobiles ever manufactured in any significant numbers? Two cylinder Reos and Buicks are dwarfed by their size! And fast by pre-1910 standards! (Although Rob's 6-40 K roadster would run circles around it!) I saw one once at a one and two cylinder HCCA tour I attended about thirty years ago. To say I was impressed by the car would be an understatement! (Gee, ya think?) The one I saw I couldn't believe was a two cylinder until I got to look under the hood!

The Northern was founded by Charles B King and Jonathan Maxwell. Ford connection. Charles B King was the man that beat Henry Ford to being the first successful gasoline automobile built and driven in Detroit! Henry and Charles were friends as well as rivals. It was Henry Ford that rode a bicycle following Charles B King on his first drive! Henry's Quadricycle was first driven a few weeks later.
Shortly after Northern was founded and in production, Jonathan Maxwell left to partner with Benjamin Briscoe to produce Maxwell and other makes of automobiles. Eventually, Charles B King left Northern for other interests, and Northern was absorbed into EMF and Studebaker which (in a small world!) later took over the Piquet Ford plant to produce Studebaker automobiles after Ford left it for his Highland Park Plant!

Thank you for the photos! And thanks to ALL that made the Reunion a reality! Someday, I hope I can get to one of those.

I was also pleased to see the Northern. They are quite the vehicle. These are some photos showing a bit of the engine that I though might be of interest. I'm not sure if it is the same car or not. This one was on a KISS tour a dozen years ago and belonged to some nice folks from Canada.

There are (2) original wooden body Towncars, and only one original 1912. This ultra rare car not only has its correct original drive train, but its motor and drive train is known to have never been apart. Long time owner Jim Finney of Oblong Illinois could not attend in person, so he had it delivered to this show, so that it could be enjoyed by all. Until (6) months ago, it had not been started or driven in over (30) years. Those who arrived early to the show, saw it driven to this event under its own power. Given its rarity and heavily documented history, it is possible it may end up in some collector's private museum, where the public may not see it again.

Rich E, Thanks for that engine photo! the big two cylinder Northern is a monster of a two cylinder engine! I had helped work on a few Reos, Buicks, and Maxwells before. When I attended that one and two cylinder tour years ago, I saw the Northern, and thought it must have been a four snuck in. I looked at the car, then wandered around looking at other cars. About twenty minutes later, I saw the owner of the Northern go over and lift the hood. I quickly walked back over and could hardly believe my eyes!
Northern did build four cylinder cars also. However, I cannot remember ever seeing one of the fours. I have seen at least three of the big two cylinder cars. One was a static display in a major museum.

Wow !!.. thanks for all the beautiful pictures ! I, too, didn’t know so many gorgeous and intriguing non Ford antique autos participated. Glad they did. And thank you to our hard working and focused MTFCA VP Kathy Tagert. your good efforts supporting our club and hobby are truly appreciated...

I enjoyed the photos. That Northern is an interesting auto. Looks as if there were lots of parts for sale. Probably not much in the 1909-1910 years. At almost 90, I did not drive down, for I had too many plans plans for here at home. If I am around next year, we will attend. I have a nice group of original literature I want to donate to the musuem.

An informative addition to the museum is the "Ford Time Line" finished in time for the Homecoming.
