3D Analysis of the Ford T Video

Interesting 3D video model of the Model T engine and plenty of details to take issue with including improper cranking, rated HP, etc, etc. Perhaps some constructive feedback can help refine the video to improve its educational value.

Viewed that video and was surprised that most was correct. And liked it.

The comparison to moderns in the end was good, and nice point that noted numbers of T’s produced in its run is still in the top 10 of all cars made.

Looks like a Model A crank. As for bore to stroke ratio, The Model T, at 3 3/4 X 4" is comparable to many modern engines. With the compression limits imposed by low octane fuel and crude combustion chamber design in the early T era, a short stroke engine was not practical. Crankshaft design and other design considerations also limited engine speed, which also weighed against a short stroke design.
