Glad to hear you and Russ working together on these kind of things. I'm looking forward to the next update of the judging standards whenever it comes out.

Re: Running Boards
That is a great idea Larry and Russ! Running boards are an area that need more research and information. I have two NOS running boards for a 26-27 that were never installed. They were stored in a Ford dealers' warehouse in St. Paul, MN. I will get the pictures to you guys when I get back to my shop.

Re: Running Boards
I owned a 1926 a very long time ago, and I recall there were two different styles of running boards for that year.

Re: Running Boards
These NOS boards have two different sizes of scripts on them, maybe that is the difference. Third picture is the underside of the boards, still has the shiny Ford paint.

Re: Running Boards
Yes... I broached this information on the ‘New and Improved’ runningboards years ago. My research indicated the larger script was for 1926. I look for this topic on tours and often find a mix of script runningboards on Model T s.
I don’t know why I turned out this way. My parents were decent people

Those two pictures above are what I remember. Thanks for posting. That should settle it for 1926 & 1927.

Re: Running Boards
At the factory they probably grabbed them off the running board pile and picked one for the right and one for the left. I don’t think the script difference was a big no no.The new owner didn’t notice the difference. But that’s my opinion.

A photo we need for our research is a photo of a pre 2500 running board that still has the original covering on it. Please help!

Re: Running Boards
Specifically, Original is looking for pics of a “pre 2500” ORIGINAL running board. We may assume 1909.

There were three styles of 26-7 running boards. A whole heap of them were stamped "Made in Canada".

Re: Running Boards
And...one more piece of information regarding 26-7 Running Boards; the Ford script is pressed into the running board on both edges of the board making the boards interchangeable.

Re: Running Boards
Larry/Russ, do you need pictures of "Canadian" 27 runningboards? I have 2 sets, one on a car bought in the 1960's from the original owner, the other set is from a 27 that had been sitting in my father's yard since the late 50's and I finally scrapped it about 10 years ago. Let me know.

Re: Running Boards
I think we would certainly welcome photos of Canadian running boards, since the guidelines has a Canadian section. What we are looking for here is known original running boards for all years, and wish to show photos of each year from 1909-27. Contrary to popular belief all running boards from 1913-1925 are NOT the same. The only thing that is, is the Ford script goes in the same direction. Also around 1920 or 21, the fender to running board holes were changed from 1/4" to 5/16". I'm assuming the dies used were changed often due to wear, and were upgraded as needed.

Re: Running Boards
Something I discovered recently is the script of a 1911 running board is the same as a 1913, just rotated 90 degrees! Thanks Keith Townsend.
