Progress on the Ford Special

Peter and the Fawcett group are working away on our racer. Next up, install 3:1 gears and painting. Below are fabricated seat buckets:
Extended clutch/low pedal:
Lengthened steering column and false tank hiding longer engine block:

What is the genesis for the need to extend the pedals? That much additional length is going to increase the throw of the pedals considerably as well as increase mechanical advantage on the bands.

Easier to lock and go. It probably in this case, has much to do with how it was when it was racing. Looking great Rob! thanks,jw
