Camping with a Model T at Craters of the Moon

"Craters of the Moon National Monument, Idaho. Picturesque camp made by a lone geologist on the cinders of Inferno. O.E. Meinzer visited the Monument in June 1921 and made preliminary plans for a geological survey of the area." Shows encampment with Model-T pickup truck and small tent with rope attached to auto radiator to help support it.

I can't sleep across a hill like that. I'd be rolling thru the tent side...
Put tent up an down hill not across. No rolling and your head is elevated. And if it rains, youre going to get wet with no trench dug.... my Army days have scarred me.... lol

Problem was tying the tent to the T. Above him, it would roll over the tent - below, pull the tent over. :lol: Chance of enough rain to need a trench - 0% on that cinder field.
