I would like to replace a Gross Jet with a Viton tip valve in a rebuilt carb I have. I have the new jet, but I can't figure out how to remove the Gross Jet. I can't get a small wrench on it. Is there a secret to removing these?

You dont mention which carb. They are all different.
I have worked with NH's. A small socket has worked so far.

either a socket or nut driver (my preference). In some cases you may have to grind the "roundness" off of the face of the driver in order to present as much "oomph" on it as possible. If not, and the face is too blunt, you'll just round off what little hex is showing on the valve, and your day will have just gotten a lot worse.

I had a chepo small socket set that had the correct size socket in it and carefully made a turn or two on my bench grinder with the socket. Worked OK after that. The small socket sets usually have a nut driver handle in them. The small socket sets are usually 1/4 “ drive.
