Many in the hobby knew Milt Webb and his expertise on Model T's and giving back to the clubs.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Milt Webb.
Milt had been with the Museum for decades. He's the one we have to thank for the founding of our Pit Crew, the group of talented volunteers that keeps our roster of cars in functioning order. He continued to work on the Pit Crew alongside our current Head of Pit Crew Dave Eichner until illness incapacitated him in 2019 and kept him bedridden. In 2018, we renamed the Pit Crew's garage to "Milt's Garage" in honor of his contributions to the Museum.
In addition to these contributions, he was an internationally known Model T expert, gave classes at the Museum about Model Ts, and drove cross-country in his T multiple times, all of which earned him a number of awards.

Milt was awarded the Walter Rosenthal award in 2006. I will post more if and when a memorial is to be held.

Sadly, not unexpected.

Like Mark Twin and his often misquote "Reports of (my) demise greatly exaggerated" Milt's passing had been reported some time ago, and it was well known of his failing health.
Still, and always, such a loss anytime one of the model T greats passes.

A tremendous loss, joining those like Bruce McCalley.

We met Milt on our first national tour in Riverside in 2006. We had a major breakdown and some of the broken parts came home in a container Milt gave me which I still have.

He will be missed, our condolences to his family.

Milt passed away this past week. A previous posting a couple of years ago was an error. 3 years ago he had a bad fall while working in his garage and never recovered.

I sat at a table with Milt at the 40 year gathering of Rosenthal awardees in Mesa in 2010. I found him a fount of knowledge on T's and a modest fellow who was only too willing to help in any way he could. His was an exceptional contribution to the model T community.

I just spotted Milt's passing on the CA Auto Museum email, and was going to post it here, but it's already been done. "Uncle Milt" was an institution out here, and he will be sorely missed.

I remember the day I first met Uncle Milt. I was serving on the MTFCA board. He was a legend then. He was one of the nicest humble guys I ever met.

Many years ago, I spent a great afternoon in Milt’s garage having him tutor me on the proper way to build and balance a transmission. A real gentleman who will be missed.

While I didn’t really know Milt, I met him on tour and read many of his articles. His willingness to help and share his knowledge will be missed.

Milt was a true pioneer and ambassador of good will in the model T community. His contributions were many. We thank you for all you have done over the years. May you rest in peace.

Back many years ago when Milt was out in the Oregon area for a National Tour here in Portland, (I think) Milt needed some work done on his 1925 coupe engine. We put the car in my garage and did the engine repair and after the work was done, we had a BBQ and spent the rest of the evening talking Model T's. I can't remember the first meeting with Milt, but I'm sure it goes back 30 years or better. He will be missed, I'm sure. Tom and Lynn Elliott
