NH float hinge

I am rebuilding a NH carb for my 25 roadster and broke the float hinge while taking out the old float seat. I know Lang's sells the hinge but I have several "parts" carburetors that I can get one off of. My question is does anyone know what size rivet is used to attach the hinge? The hinge I removed has the rivets still attached but I can't get a good read on them and they are probably deformed from being installed. One of the rivets measures .103 in one direction .108 at 90 deg the other measures .105 and .110 at 90 deg. Lang's hinge comes with the rivets but hate to buy the whole shabang when all I need are the rivets and they don't list the size. I checked online and could not find a reference to the size and even went through Dykes carb supplement but no mention that I can find. Anyone have any idea what size they are supposed to be?

Hi John, My guess is a #4 rivet would be best. I measured the hole in the hinge at .116 to .120. A #32 drill will go through but a #31 will not. I don't have a loose rivet in hand but tried to measure 2 in the float at .118. I may be measuring solder. The next standard rivet I see is 1/8" (.125). That would be too big. If you can find rivets in between #4 and 1/8 then they would work too. I don't know that the size matters that much as the solder really holds the hinge to the float.
At least those are my thoughts.
Others may have better or different information.
Rich

Go to your local Ace hardware and see what kind of rivet selection they have. A common size such as 1/8 “ (.125). Then buy the next smaller sizes from there. Quite possibly you can find one that will work. The larger Ace stores have the better selections.

The rivets are copper. head dia.190.(hinge side) Setside(top) is .125, so the body diameter is much smaller. From your dimensions, I would think .090" I didnt find a carb body missing the rivets.
You could use a piece of soild copper wire of a close sise & head both sides, making your own copper rivet.
I have used brass brads to replicate these rivets. These brads work well. From ace hardware packed near the tacks & small finish nails.
