I feel your pain, Dean. I have a 1911 Oakland that had fairly good interor. It was at the point where it would either have to be a museum piece with original interior or a tour car with new interior. I chose to have a tour car.

My father was a self taught master of upholstery...I sure wish some of that would have rubbed off on me !
I have a clue, a nice machine, sewing table, material, just not very good at it. :(

Yes. Years ago Vince Iacchino made some good top installation videos, but after he died the masters were lost and they're no longer available. I think the Classtique videos are as good as you'll find today.

That's nice of you Dave but maybe not needed.

More specifically, I need a top repair.

One of the wood bows has pulled away from the upholstery.
I don't know if it is repairable without removing the whole top.

I'm not sure how it happened. I have only had the car since December last year.

I can take pictures the next time I have it out.

Nice job Dean. My 1911 Touring car project came with a new J V Auto Group top kit. I plan on installing it when the weather here in mid Illinois stays warm enough. I also have new top bows that need shaped to the top irons first. Both tasks seem rather difficult. Art
