In an previous topic, Jim Patrick pointed out there has been problems with new body blocks not fitting on 1926/1927 coupes. I have found that to be the case for my 1927. There is several problems with the repops, thickness and depth etc. The specifics of the problems were well covered in Jim's information.

I could fix the problems by planing and cutting, but I am considering reusing my original blocks. They are shown in the attached photos. I am probably going over board in the number of photos, but oh well ---!

Based on the beautiful original condition of your T, I would wager your car has never been exposed to the elements and that your original blocks are still hard and in perfect condition. I would reuse them since you already know they will fit. Jim Patrick

Get the blocks dry as dry as you can before installing. Be sure the bolts and nuts are clean and that the nuts can be run on the full length of the bolt thread by hand. The bolts/nuts need to be tight, but not so tight that the sheet metal of the body is distorted. After the car is assembled and run a at least a few dozen miles, you will probably need to go over all the body bolts/nuts and tighten them just a little to be sure they're still snug. The body needs to be held firmly to the frame, but not locked down tight, since the frame will flex when the car is in use. After retightening the bolts, install cotter pins, if any. Others may know if some kind of preservative, if any, might be beneficial for the wood. If so, apply it with the wood dry and before you install it, and cover all surfaces and inside the bolt holes.

Those blocks look fantastic! Should last another 96 years.
