There has been some discussion lately about banned members on the forum. I have nothing to comment on any specific case.

Rather I just stumbled on the following feature of the forum software that I did not know existed:

"Foes"
Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible. Personal messages from foes are still permitted. Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators.

So if there is a poster who annoys or upsets you, this could be an option to reduce the tension by simply 'blocking' him from you ever seeing posts. I think this is unique just to your own account.

I guess I am more like Will Rogers, I haven't met a T'er yet that I cant find common ground with!

Hard for me to believe grown men can't get along well enough to not get banned from this web site.

There is one particular extremely irritating idiot that I would like to ban from the forum that has done extensive damage to me and I have heard to quite a few others. Lucky for him that I am not a mean spirited individual.
Do onto others as you would like to have them do to you.
Just my $ 0.02 for today.

I hope that before banning anyone, he should be made aware of why he was being banned. Also, it would be nice to be provided with a list of rules that might get someone banned. If I were banned I would want to know who complained about me so I could apologize. Offending someone is bad and wrong so I have no problem apologizing for it. I apologize to my wife all the time. It's been my experience that the most contrarian people on the internet are those who have little to do in the real world.

Especially ironic on a forum dedicated to a machine that existed long before the world wide web.

I am 100 percent certain that Chris or Jeff contact the member and explain everything. My guess is that they inform you who complained so you can make amends. I also believe that if you are banned you can still read posts, but you cannot contribute.

I sorda feel like if a idiot offends you, tell the idiot, not the rest of the world first. Then if the said idiot still acts like a idiot take things further.

So what ever happened to Seth from down south? he was one that use to get into it with a few also, did he get band or just leave?

Joe if I’m not Mistaken I heard that he passed away. Tried to call him several times and visited with him when I drove through Shreveport,La. a decade ago when I covered that part of the Region. Last email I had from him was 2008.

Joe, Seth & I communicated a few times off Forum about electrical issues. In one of those "conversations", I did ask him why he wasn't posting anymore, as I really enjoyed learning from him. (I believer he was an engineer of some sort with one of the small engine manufacturers - maybe Briggs & Stratton - not positive about the firm).
His explanation was that he voluntarily stopped reading and posting because of the "back-biting" and hard hitting criticisms of what he posted. Certainly, he offended some (as do I), who found fault with his method of solving a problem..more than one way to skin that proverbial cat! Can't please everybody...even the great Stan Howe got fed up (from time to time) with the nastiness that sometimes presents itself here. A shame!

And then there was our member from Miami, Florida…..Reid Welch

And least we not forget Michael Doctors. A real person who was a member of the Orange County Model T Club.
If posters would simply think before they hit the "Submit" button, we wouldn't have this thread.

I always enjoyed reading Seth's post's. He had a lot to offer.

I always enjoyed reading them also but boy there was some that liked picking on him, and as some one said earlier there is always different ways to skin a cat!!
