I just bought this and paid a small fortune because it is way cool
does not say Aermore says big 4 horn
it is adjustable
someone said it looks like the Case Tractor big 4
I have no idea
there are two set screws to hold the fitting to the whistle
four brass tubes
casting holds the tubes
spring loaded to activate
has anyone ever seen one like this? Bob

Bob, just what does the adjustment do? Does it change the volume, pitch, whatever?
I have two standard Aermore whistles on my cars, but instead of the usual cutout pedal I have an accessory pedal which allows me to operate them with my foot at any exhaust volume, so I can play with the amount of gas they get.
Does this adjustment allow this?

The adjustment shouldn’t change the pitch of the tones, that’s determined by the length of the tubes. I personally think it was made this way to circumvent patents. Very cool!!!

Most are activated by the cut out only this one has an extra, have not tried it but could be able to change the sound somehow

My guess is, it will change volume, but not pitch. Really, in operation, I believe it would work not that much different than the cut-out style whistle.

I just saw this post. I had a late-28 AA truck back in the 60's that had that exact whistle on it when I bought it. The whistle worked very well and just like Jerry was thinking, it changed volume, not pitch/tone. It had a real nice sound, different from most other whistles I have had or remember. It did have a bad habit of getting stuck if you pulled it all the way open too quickly.
