Yesterday 10 early Fords left New London and traveled 125 miles to New Brighton. I am happy to report all 10 crossed the finish line. 2 -04 model A, 1-model N, 1-model R, 2-model S runabout, and 4-model S roadsters.

How about the model B and model K did they complete it?

They went home early because Rob got covid.

I prefer to think I "acquired COVID......" Always a bright side.............

While i was saddened to miss the run, the Fords held their own, with all ten starters finishing. Four Fords (my three and another) missed the start. All three of our cars, B, F and K, were running good and ready for the run. However, Wednesday I felt poorly and tested positive Wednesday evening. Sooooooo, home on Thursday.

A few pics sent by Eric Hylen and others of Fords on the run:

At the finish. Fords finished 1,2,3,4 and 6 of the first cars in. Thank you Eric H. for the photos:

Great looking cars. Sorry to hear Rob acquired "the virus". It looks to be a bit chilly and damp there.

Thanks for passing on Eric Hylen's pictures. It is great to see those early cars. I think about you guys driving the early ones when I drive my '07 Buick. Not too many cars feel and drive like them.
The open air and the low RPMs along with a bit of gas, oil and exhaust in the air is like nothing else. :D
Hope you feel better soon.
Rich

I do recall that Eric H is a good early Ford man! In spite of his association with Maxwell! (Sorry Eric, all in fun!)

And I am hoping you and your Maxwell were there to represent the "other side"?
It should be fair enough to share photos and details here of the rest of the Run! I know I want to see them!

Thanks for the Ford photos and results!

The last two cars were Fords, so we cleaned up the track behind all the others, although we left a few brake pieces on the road.

Most fun ride I ever had at NLNB. Thank you Roddy.

I was really looking forward to driving the model B on the big tour. We were just getting it dialed in when Rob had to leave. But I got to put 40 miles on it on the Wednesday mini tour. A great car to drive. My model F was one of the did not start cars. We had a connecting rod issue. But it will be back next year. My model S roadster was first across the finish line. But it wasn’t a race. Early Fords just had to be first. Darn Maxwells had to be beat. Oh well just my 2 cents worth. All in fun 🤩

Looks like a great time for the Ford folks! Some of us would like to hear about the other cars as well?
Friendly rivalries can be a wonderful and healthy thing. I have known collectors over the years that owned a number of Stutz and/or Mercer automobiles! It was fun hanging around listening to them razz each other.
As well as the Maxwells, did the "ColumbiaFord" make the run this year?

Wayne,
No, the “Fordlumbia” is awaiting an appointment at the spa. Wade and Jeanne drove their Brass Pierce on pre-tours, and rode in the big red MAxwell (gasp) on Saturday (risking expulsion from the “Fordlumbia” registry….)

Thank you Rob!
Was their Pierce the fancy striped car I saw the back of in one of the videos linked on another thread? The video didn't show the front of the car, and I was wondering what it was.

Yes Wayne

One of those videos was from behind the Pierce. You can see the mother in law seat in the back.

Thank you Dave H! And thank you for posting those videos. I don't get out much these days, and like to see some videos of what I am missing out on.
Again, thank you.

The Buick that finished fourth was a model 14 2 cylinder car. The owner a retired machinist restored the car and it presented itself very well. Maybe next year the Fords will pull back and let him be first. We’ll have to see 😃

This should be a link to pictures of all the cars.
