Is this the inner berring?

So I took the wheel off the front to continue to repack the front bearings. I'm cleaning out the old grease from the inside of the hub. I ordered two grease seals and was about to take out the old felt seal when I noticed that I can't move the bearing around with my finger. Should I get a wooden dowel or end of a hammer and place it on the edge of the bearing from the other side and push it out? It almost looks like there is no bearing at all. So do I give it a good wack and and have faith?

the metal housing holding the felt seal is holding your bearing in place (as it should).
Yes, tapping briskly from the inside will drive the bearing into the seal/housing and the whole mess will be pushed out the back...you will be surprised at how large the bearing really is.

There should be a couple of notches in the hub that will allow you to get something against the edge of the outer cup. You might have to alternate hitting the two sides to get it out

Image in Ford Service, use a punch or better, a wood dowel stick.

Well I got it out. A few taps and out it came. I should have looked in the book.

Thanks for putting up with me. I cleaned out all the old grease and will put it back once the solvent drys out.

The Ford service manual is a great resource for information for most any T repair. It has been for me.
