AC Brakes thick washer location?

Post by Bob in Texas » Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:05 pm

I am installing set of new production AC Brakes on small drum rear axle. Kit came with a special think washer. I can't figure out where that washer goes. Any help out there?
Seems I remember it was spacer to keep the casting from breaking on rear backing plates other than very early axles.
I don't have any instructions I can find.
Thanks for any help.

I don't have the same A-C brakes as you have but I would look to see if the washer is needed to make the brake line up with the drum at one of the mounting bolts. I also saw a washer at the pivot point of the shoes in one pic. Alignment with the drum is critical to good braking. Craig.

Try calling Larry Sidmore, the maker of the brakes, and ask. :)
