I have a 1920 engine with a Gates 819 black belt that is too short.

I have 19 spare belts and no Gates 820 black belt.

A Gates 821 is also missing, but a G number brown belt is 27 inches and too long.

How long is an 820 and why do I not have one?

Is it because they are no longer made?

Does anyone have a Gates chart to share?

The 820 gates belt, is the 820 a millimeter measurement for length? If it is a serpentine belt shows up when I type Gates 820 black belt into Google. Unless you are going for show originality and this length would fit, you can turn these inside out and run them. Just a suggestion and your local Napa store usually handles Gates.

I will look in my old gates catalog tomorrow and see if they were listed in them. I know we’re in the 60’s but don’t think my catalog goes back that far. Dan

My problem is with a 1920 engine.

The two different sized crankshaft pulleys are listed for 1920, one at the end and one at the beginning of years they fit.

I used the larger size pulley!

I'm wondering if a Gates 820 flat black belt was intended for use on the 1920 new size crankshaft pulley.
