Not common but a customer has these and can not find any information on them, is anyone running these wheels or what year did they come out?

Bob,
I can not answer your question as to when these were made.
I have a similar set with the hubs but not the rims and would be interested in them if he decides sell them.
Thank You,
Larry

I'm not sure this answers any questions but it is Goodyear from 1927.

Very nice and interesting wheels!
I am fairly certain that they were after-market wheels, and meant to be used on almost any small to mid size automobiles of the day. The centers need to be sized, and drilled to fit the individual hubs of various cars for use.
While they continued to be available in various sizes and strengths to be available for almost any car into the 1930s? Wheels like these were most common during the 1910s as several impractical ideas continued to be used on various makes of cars regarding the repairing of flats. Ford may have been the most egregious offender, but they were not alone in providing non-demountable wheels on new automobiles during the 1910s. And many other marques provided complicated and often dangerous multi-rings or bizarre clamps methods of keeping tires on wheels or rims! After-market wheels offering demountable rims and better mounting methods was big business for quite a few years!

I may be wrong but i believe they were introduced around or in 1915/1916, they were used a lot on the World War 1 ambulances of the American Field Service. Ford did not provide removable rim wheels yet and they were a great thing to have in the adverse conditions of the war in Europe. On old photo's fromthe early ambulances you can spot them easily because of the five lugnuts.
Again i could be wrong about the year, i'm quoting this from memory and we all know how that is

Picture below is a late '15 or early'16 ambulance with Goodyear detachable rim wheels.
