AACA Hershey Fall Meet Tues Oct 4 –Fri, Oct 7 2022

Post by Quickm007 » Wed Aug 31, 2022 11:52 am

Hershey Fall Meet is coming soon in October. It will be nice knowing who's coming and let us know which vendors with the pole number and the field name who will be present. Also if you may have something related with our hobby Model T Ford you would like to share on the post about Hershey. I'll be there this year after missing the last 2 years because of Cov...19 story. I'm so please to attend this year. See you there and safe travel

Personally, I could bring some over stock T parts... I will check in couple weeks what I have in my over stock. I have a very nice solid roller Model T engine stand I could bring to Hershey. Also a very very nice OF carb rebuild perfectly by Stan and never used... Hope I tease you a bit

Our family can not wait as well! I'll be there driving my rpu as transportation every day to spaces CG-74/75 (Just East of Coker & Bergs). I'll have a set of rear fenders, a bunch of timer rollers (steel and brass), some crankcase repair brackets (Apco and Hudson), and my dad will have a bunch of hogs heads starter and non starter, aluminum and cast iron (marked at good prices) and some other misc. T parts amongst the bunch.

I have asked the webmaster to merge the contents of my similar Hershey thread into this one, there's no need to have two threads covering the same info. :)

Merged now, Chris

Thanks, Chris! :)

Bumpity Bump Bump

Chris, is there a way to make this topic a "sticky" until the event is over, then remove the designation so that it sinks down like a normal post?

I'm going to do something that I haven't done in over 50 years! My first Hershey was a day trip. A Saturday, got up at 0 dark 30, plopped in a 59 Edsel that was not yet a decade old, had breakfast along the way at a greasy spoon with my future father-in-law, then in about 830 or so showed up and PARKED within 100 feet of the stadium....lol. The vendors were out back, maybe 2 rows, 3 rows max, and got them done relatively quick. Car Show for what was then old iron was IN the stadium!

Over the years been to most for the full expanded duration, one of the first to have a personal porta potty brought in when it was clear I couldn't afford a personalized BlueBird bus like some were bringing in back in red and blue field days...lol. Some nights my slop bucket froze...most Saturday mount outs were mud fest that were fun to watch, (and I'd stay over Saturday night in the stillness and quiet to then leave at crack of dawn Sunday where there was NO traffic...

Anyway, this year going to do another single day trip starting at 0 dark 30 on Friday, find some fried egg sandwich place along the way, go watch the car show cars roll in. Walk thru the show car area. Wave to people who I've known forever, maybe chat up a few, have a food truck lunch...then head back home at the end of the day. (Not allowed to buy anything this year...lol...bought a 25 ft deck boat over the summer so its into basic maintenance of the T's for a while. :D :D  :D :D

Will be back again in GCC5, 6 offering some nice early automobilia, including some automobile sheet music, brass items, a few early advertising watch fobs and stuff, some misc early literature, rare spark plugs from a small collection recently acquired, etc, etc. I'm almost across from the crab cake vendor in front of Giant Center, just down a bit from the big AACA merchandise tent. Still sorting out so who knows what kind of treasures you might find. If I'm not there I'm out trying to spend the money I made the day before. Drop by and say hello - and don't forget to bring me a few spark plugs for my collection. See you there!

I'll be there in my usual spaces, but I still will be forbidden to do any lifting with my broken wrist, so I won't have my usual trailer load of parts. Maybe just a table or something, I don't know; playing it by ear. I really want to bring my trailer though since I have three '28 Chevy engines with OHV setups and a Lycoming CT engine I want to sell.

Is set up day on Monday instead of Tuesday this year? I like to go on set up day so I can ride a bicycle from field to field and check the venders as they unpack!

I would sure like to find a decent front tapered leaf spring for my '14 roadster. Also looking for a pair of 30 x 3 1/2 new or excellent used universal drivers. I'll be in GAG 27-28 and forced to travel around by scooter due to nerve problems in my leg. Happy hunting. Bruce

In my experience, valve stems and parts are usually mixed up with other stuff in boxes or coffee cans, be prepared to do some digging. :)

If anyone has Schrader 777 valve stems or other associated, parts, please let me know where to find you.
There was a stand last year that had many, cleaned and available, in the Chocolate field in or near row CG. I think they were near a cross aisle near the food vendors located in thr south end of the field. Sorry, you'll have to still look, but that might get you some sooner than later.

Oh Snap! Something unexpected came up so need to cancel my trip to Hershey this year. Very disappointed I will not be able to say hello, share information and and visit with everyone this year. Please drop me an email if I can be of assistance. Wishing everyone safe travels and a great time at Hershey.
