Is it possible to heat the hand brake lever to bend it straight?

I’ve heard it can be bent cold with LARGE wrenches. Not wanting to buy tools just for one job.

YES! I have done it twice, just take your time and apply steady pressure.

I would not apply heat to it. Often such items can be straightened by lodging them in the fork of a tree, or some other stable fixture, and putting a length of pipe over the free end to carefully apply bending force. Straightening is "un-bending". It usually takes care and some thought to get good results.

It does depend whether the lever is bent to the side or to the front/back. Sideways bends are easy to fix with two large crescent wrenches, one set to the thickness of the handle and the other adjusted to the thickness of the first. This second one is the lever for the bend.
If somehow the bend is fore and aft, heat will likely be needed to straighten it. The same two wrenches can be used for the bending.
