Am interested in which hub cap is proper for a 1912. According to the Encyclopedia, the '12 has script and thin edge. A sketch also shows plain or no scallop edge from the side view.

Have a group of 4, the shiny one on the far right is the current reproduction, the others appear to be originals, which 1, 2, and 3 are 'real' 1912?

Think the later '12 or '13 has the Made in USA, wanting to assemble 4 alike, w/o the Made in USA.

The one on the far left is the true 1912 hubcap.

I believe the two in the center are Canadian dated from 1913, when ford added Made in USA.

Quite difficult to state that John unless you took delivery of the car from Ford - those appear to be earlier caps at least for U.S. production.

John-
That hubcap looks to be the current 1911 reproduction that is available.
Here is an image of an original and a reproduction.

I disagree with Keith's answer. A 1913 hubcap is 1913 only. A 14-16 is the same. Keith has a correct 1913 posted. The F in the script is much bolder in appearance than the 14-16.

When I posted the picture of my style hub cap I considered it similar to the description in Bruce W. McCalley's book, 'Model T Ford'. I am including a photo of the paragraph from his book, page 126 and picture of the two hub caps he described. If I am infringing on a copy right by posting those pictures I will gladly take them down. Now if someone has an update on his research on the hub caps please enlighten me. My car is Canadian and there are even less production records surviving, and no, I didn't pick the car up new.
