40 tooth ring gear
what is the difference in a 40 tooth ring gear and a 40 tooth large tooth. wanting to put in a 12 tooth pinion gear in a 26 2 door sedan.

Never heard of a 40 tooth large tooth.
Wouldnt hurt to know if this is a rux rear end, the answer would be different.
A 12 tooth pinion wont fit in a stock rear end with a stock 40 T ring gear. The 12T pinion gear is a larger diameter.
You would need a ring gear from a 13/39 or a 13/40 & shim the ring gear up about .090"
