Hershey weather

Post by Steve Jelf » Fri Sep 30, 2022 10:34 am

Considering past experiences, this isn't bad. At least it will be dry. But pack your winter jammies.

Agreed! Not bad at all. Maybe some wet shoes on set up day, but looking forward to seeing everyone Tuesday thru Friday! My kind of weather too.

I just talked to someone who told me they would see me Saturday! Told them Nope!

Apparently some didn’t get the message that Saturday is no more? That Friday is the new Saturday?

Just heard from a clubmate who is there that The Race of Gentlemen in Wildwood, NJ has been cancelled. :(

And it was a nippy 40 degrees here in metro Detroit this morning. BRRR!

We usually get there he night before entry day. We line up on the circle road and sleep until seven when they let us onto the choc. field. I heard that they will not allow that this year. Is that true?

You should direct all questions to the Hershey Region. They will give you the right info.

Steve's Weather report did not include Ian. Rain is forecast for tonight and all day Tuesday (1"+) and ending around noon Wed. Lousy for setting up but improving for rest of week. jb

Steve, fire your weather guesser, he obviously knows nothing about how to make an accurate weather guess!

Perhaps the Hershey Chamber of Commerce could use him to good advantage.

Wednesday, day 2. Weather not bad. Just a little spitting. Us Southern California guys don't go much for that rain. Walked for 11 hours and covered exactly 8 miles. More tomorrow!

That is very clearly a mid year 1912.

No, not mine. It's a bit of a bitsa. Seems to be driven a lot.

Today's walking tally: 8 hours and 9-1/2 miles. Did see a good deal on this 1912 Cadillac that needs a little TLC to freshen it up

Final day, mostly at the car show: About 7 hours, 5-1/2 miles. Didn't quite catch all of the swap meet. Total walking distance right around 23 miles.
