I hope that's not salt water. Better check the rear axle for water, too.

Depending on how far it is and how soft the bottom is, and how far from shore they might be able to drive the first one out but need to keep the carburetor from drawing water. If it will start. The second one will defanatly need help to get it out. No cell phone in those days, so they will have to walk. Hopefully not very far.
