I found this post card in my Dad's old family records. The photo was taken in Rutland, North Dakota. It is a small town in the southeast corner of the state. I was raised in Forman which is 9 miles from Rutland. My Dad's farm was about 7 miles from Rutland.

I purchased my 1927 coupe in 1954 from a farmer located about 15 miles from Rutland. It is interesting to speculate that it may have been purchased at this garage in 1927!!!

My Dad was a friend of the mechanic (Duke Evenson) who worked at this garage. I knew Duke because he was the farther-in-law of my wife's brother.

When do you think the photo was taken?

Two cars look to have electric lights, so guessing around 1914 or early 1915ish.

If someone can identify the make of the three vehicles at the far right which appear to be brand new, you should be able to pinpoint the year of the photo.

Those three new little roadsters are Grants.

Here is a 1914 Grant roadster. So likely the photo is 1914.

George D. Grant and his brother, Charles A. Grand of Detroit, MI founded the Grand Motor Car Company in late 1913. A short time later, they took over a former nail factory in Findlay, Ohio and moved their company there. They remained in Findlay until 1916, when it moved to Cleveland. It remained in production until October of 1922. The INTERNET pictures indicate that the GRANTs are 1914 Model M https://www.oocities.org/grantmotor/14-M-1.html Do likely 1914-1915 Black tires became popular starting in 1917 even though they were available earlier

"What Year Was This Taken?" I would say 1914 or so. The shiny paint suggests the cars are new. Acetylene lights with brass trim would be '13 or '14 on a Ford. Electric lights would be likely in 1915.
