I measured the combustion volume of the head gasket. It is about 1.11 cu in. Is this taken into consideration whrn determining combustion ratio. The compressed gasket thickness measured .060 in

Dan.
I am wondering how or where you otained your number I used an ancient drafting instrument called a polar compensating planimeter. I don't know how accurate it is. But must be fairly accurate since our numbers are close
Thanks for responding

Perhaps I looked at this too simplistically.
Is it not the volume of a cylinder
Diameter 3.75 in
Height 0.060
3.14 X (3.75 / 2) squared x 0.060
I get about 0.66 cubic inches

Harry-its the volume of a head gasket, which is not a cylinder, as you have to include the valve area as well. Art- its been several years, but I recall that my volume was an actual measured volume using a flat plate and a pipette.
