When the engine was out, I found the clutch/speed lever was very worn and was collapsing. I found that a previous owner had done a poor job with a repair weld. I straightened the wear surface and welded a new 1/8" thick plate along the top as a new wear surface. One thing I noticed when I pulled it out and reinstalled the adjustment Clutch Lever Bolt runs very closely to one edge. I would suspect it should run closer to the center (see image).

It does not look bent or twisted. Everything else looks like it is aligned correctly. I am thinking about taking a heat wrench warming it up and bending it so the bolt runs more centered. See any issues with this?

Turn the bolt over and use the wider head to ride on the cam after rounding the edges over some. The shaft for the throughout does have some lateral movement, so while it might not be centered now, it might be later. If you bend, it can be done cold.

As Mark eluded to, see just how much the throw-out shaft moves laterally - I usually grab a large adjustable wrench and bend the throw-out arm w/bolt to align better with the ramp on the H.B. shaft.
