So what size are the spare tire carrier nuts

I'm trying to attach the spare tire carrier to the goose neck on my 26 Touring. The three studs look like 1/2 x20 fine threads. Is this correct? I've read that the original ones were a thin nut. Fact or fiction.
What about the bolt that holds the rim on? Looks like a 3/8 x 24?

The little thin nuts wired to it are hard to find.

The thin stud nuts are relatively simple to reproduce by facing off and contouring regular 1/2-20 grade 5 nuts in the lathe. In a pinch the nut could be screwed on the bolt a couple turns and the face contoured by grinding, a little tedious but do-able. ymmv, jb

If you have one or have a good friend that have one. Not everyone have that privilege and then it might be tricky...

I'm going to look again in my pile of nuts that came with he car first. If not I'll order some. Not sure why I couldn't find them on Lang's WEB page. Thanks everyone!!

They are a very thin nut indeed & I've not seen them reproduced. I believe I have some to measure - be back later today.

You may also be able to find these nuts at an automotive parts store in the Trailer parts section 1/2"-20 Thread with 60° cone
But searching costs time & gas ($). I assume that the top shorter height nut just needs to be flush with the stud

Sorry for the quality, but this is what they look like next to a cotter pin.
You can see they are rounded on one side to fit the carrier.
