BREAKING WIND!!!! FORTUNATELY, I DON'T HAVE GAS VERY OFTEN. WHEN I DO, THE SOUND IS FOUR TIMES LOUDER THAN MY RUBES HORN !!! AM I A NATURAL PHENOMENON ???? NOOOO, MY RUBES HORN IS A NATURAL FLOP. AS I CAN NOT SUBSTITUTE FOR MY RUBES HORN ON INSTANT DEMAND, I MUST APPEAL TO YOU OUT THERE WITH PROBABLY A MILLION YEARS OF COMBINED MODEL T EXPERIENCE FOR HELP.

I HAVE BEEN FIDDLING WITH THAT HORN FOR YEARS WITH NO SUCCESS. THE ONE MANUFACTURER OF REEDS CAN NOT OR WILL NOT SUPPLY THE T PARTS VENDORS SO I CAN'T BUY ANYMORE ( I HAVE BOUGHT SOME - NO HELP ). I HAVE TAKEN MY PROBLEM TO THE FINEST MODEL T PEOPLE I KNOW WITH NO SUCCESS. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR BEST THOUGHTS, YOU HAVE NEVER LET ME DOWN IN THE PAST.. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE PAUL

Hi Paul,
Does the reed on your horn mount near the horn or near the bulb? The ones that were mounted near the horn were the push in type the ones near the bulb were the screw in type.
Here is some good suggestions:

The gent who repairs bagpipes said to place a hair under the reed at the base to change pitch. I've struggled mightily trying to get horns to sound in the past. In one instance, the large bulb furnished by the parts suppliers passed too much air. Using a smaller bulb did the trick

Perhaps you are not getting enough air to the reed to make a difference. I solved the problem by going to the hardware store and purchasing some of clear "braided" hose that is normally used for ice makers. I slipped the hose into the brass hose that had some significant air leaks. No one knows the difference. Now, I can guarantee a healthier supply of air from the bulb directly to the reed than you can produce from your earlier post! Hope this helps!

One other suggestion, Paul - remove the hose from the horn and blow through the reed by mouth to test the sound manually. If the reed is damaged, you will find out easier than reassembling everything to test.
