By the looks of the 27 Coupe this must have been in the early 30’s. I guess this one didn’t get the wire wheels. Looks like the Ford screwdriver too.

Where is the split rim? Or are they 23" clinchers?

Look at the sway in the front axle. That must have been one of the last of the 27's made.

Unless the photo was labeled 1927, the T equipped with wooden spoked wheels is most likely a ‘26. 1926’s and ‘27 looked identical. Jim Patrick

The photo was tagged as a 27 Coupe according the site but the 26-27 Coupes do look closely alike. But I did wonder about the type of wheels. At first they seemed they looked like 30 x 3 1/2 but a closer look they are 21” ??

Yes, the bumper bars have the rolled ends and bolt characteristic of the A model. I still think that tyre looks skinny enough to be a 23" clincher, and the tyre is still on the rim while he patches the tube. There were poverty pack/options to maintain 23" wheels on the improved Fords. Perhaps this is one of them.

It's possible that this car might have had some modifications since it was manufactured. The radiator shell is plated and the hood looks like the paint doesn't match the rest of the car. Usually, the cars with the plated radiator also came with the wire wheels. The bumper might have been added or replaced by an A bumper. Looks like a 30 or 31 A bumper.

It's a staged photo. Look at the 4-way lug nut wrench laying on the ground.

That’s an interesting point about the lug wrench! The photo could be as early as the 40’s. Western auto had a tool brand called Westcraft in the 40’s and 50’s time period. There are some”so called” vintage lug wrench’s with the Westcraft name being sold on Ebay. I still have the old 4 way lug wrench we’ve had on the farm as early as I can remember back to the 50’s.
Whether its a staged photo I don’t know for sure. But I do wonder when 4 way lug wrenches first started appearing.

To add to the 26-27 discussions attached is a photo of a T Runabout taken in 1972 at the parade in Newland NC - that was the last year it was registered - it then sat on blocks in Mr Buchanan's (second owner) garage for 41 years before I bought it in September 2013 - looks just like it did then except for cleanup, new wiring , tires, wheel bearings- kept as Preservation Class as has never been apart - was originally owned by a Mr Van Bradley from Bluff City , TN. Car was titled as a 26 but Build date is May 1927 (engine number and matching frame number (below passenger door) of 14981357) the last month of production. Looks like a 1926 Sport Runabout (Henry's Wonderful Model T, Floyd Clymer, page 137) except for the headlight/fender tie bar which came out in January 1926. Has the Holly Vaporizer. So a plane Jane right up to the end - except for the bumpers.
