can I use a Z head on a 23 with a low radiator?

What is the fix for the upper water neck? I don't think a hose will bend like that. Will a water neck for a high radiator work?

The only thing you will have to check is that the pistons clear the head at TDC other than that it is all the same for the top hose and radiator to bolt together.

Don’t get the low head and high head mixed up with the low radiator and high radiator. The Z head is a high head and takes the head outlet to radiator used 1917-1925. It sounds like you may have a head outlet for a brass radiator car, the correct outlet should go up aprox 90 deg from the head not up at aprox 45 deg from head.

Pictures of what the question is about always helps. Can't assume "stock"radiators, water outlets in a 100 yr old car

I have a low radiator, I want to use a high z head. Can I use a later outlet to make the radiator hose align better is the question.

Yes. the Z head directly replaces the stock iron head you should have. The water outlet is the same from 17-25.
If you dont have a Z head already, I would highly recommend you go with the Prus head instead.

The radiator makes no difference, your engine if stock would have a high head and the Z is the same.

Never mind, the later neck will make it work

Yes, that outlet is off a low head up to about 1917

When fitting a Z head be sure to check clearance around the pistons. Before fitting it, clean out all threads in the block. Check your head bolts in the head for length. Because you need a washer under the bolt heads, effective length of the bolts is reduced, and you are more likely to strip a thread in the block. I use new, longer bolts to get maximum thread engagement.
I too suggest a Prus head if you haven' already bought a Z head.
Hope this helps.
