This early 1912 car clock has Reliable on the face, but there seems to be no information on whether that is the model of this clock or the name of the company that made the clock.

While I have been repairing clock for over 60 years, I have never seen one like it.

I am still wondering if it is worth repairing.

Does anyone have one in good working order or know what company made the clock?

I don’t know what the clock looks like, but a 1912 car clock is probably brass and most likely looks very impressive and worth saving. I have been repairing antique clocks, as an amateur for about 55 years, but, in my experience, the majority of time, all that is needed to get the clock running is to open the clock up, remove and clean the movement and apply a good clock or watch lubricating oil to all the pinions. Update: I have learned the clock is all brass and made, probably by a company in Connecticut, for and to be sold by Phinney-Walker, a New York City firm, kind of like Sears and Roebuck then. There are some 1907 patents mentioned on the back. The rim turns to wind the clock and it is wound tight now. Normally the rim would pull out and turn to set the time, but there seems to be too much polish packed under the back edge to let the rim pull out.

I have an early 1916 speedometer, autometer and clock with a 3 didget trip meter designed by Tesla. This assembly was in an early Packard. The clock is an 8-day Waltham and keeps very accurate time.
