intake manifold
Dog leg - has what I think is a backwards seven, then a space, 512, a space, and what could be an A or an N cast into the side you don't see on the car. Anyone know what that all means?

Re: intake manifold
The “backwards seven” is probably a”T”. The factory symbol number for the early intake manifold is 512. So the complete designation is T 512 for the early intake intake manifold.
The factory symbol number was a designation Ford used internally to keep track of parts and their production. The engineering drawing for the part shows the symbol number, usually in the lower left hand corner of the drawing. The company’s cost accounting system used factory symbol numbers to keep track of the cost of producing the part. Entire departments at Highland park were called by the factory symbol number of the part(s) produced in that department.

Re: intake manifold
That's what I thought. Usually by the time I get stuff the numbers are gone.
