We hit Pismo Beach today. We even drove on the beachfront.
My Voltage regulator took a dump but I found a way around that. Otherwise the car is running great! No breakdowns so far. Headed back now.

The car is running GREAT. I can finally keep up with all those “stock” cars.

Nice cool weather. Misty most of the day. Nice drive.
Jeff - a stock T should have gone up all the hills today in high gear and cruise at about 40-45mph depending on the car on flat ground.
Drum Canyon Road tomorrow should be interesting. Last time there seemed as if an US Army tank battalion had used it just before my visit. Hopefully smoother this time.
Great journey today. Driving on the beach was .

Re: California Dreamin Tour Day 1
Well.... I won’t start an argument here! But I will give my perspective for context. Let’s just say that the definition of “stock” in this new to me T world is anything but stock. In the Porsche racing world (my previous world), stock means stock - what was on the car when it left the factory floor. Not a low head, not a high lift cam,not a Ruxstell, what it had when it left the factory floor. It’s ok! I get it all this stuff is period correct and sometimes Henry Ford endorsed, etc, etc. So, my “now stock” T cruises at 45-50 all day long!Joss wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 11:59 pmJeff - a stock T should have gone up all the hills today in high gear and cruise at about 40-45mph depending on the car on flat ground.

And the Road you reference is Centennial Road. It leaves Los Alamos in the middle of downtown. We missed a turn yesterday and ended up in Los Alamos. My GPS showed an “easy” alternate route. Wow. The US Army tanks were there decades ago. I think it was then used for Drone bomb dropping practice. We happened upon a gigantic Fire Truck at the top. So the Fire Dept also uses it for large truck readiness practice on how to navigate crappy roads in hard to get to areas. We almost turned back, but seeing the fire truck gave us hope we’d make it through.
It was interesting, challenging, frightening all wrapped into one. It’s the one time since I’ve owned this car that I was thinking Seat belts would have been a good idea. I’ll be going back the way we came. My wife would hate it and you know the saying “happy wife, happy life”
