Ron because licensing the Ford name cost the person more money making a product some consider that & leave it off. You’ll have to look at swap meets, the forum classifieds & tBay for ones produced late late 70s & 80’s. Reeder is the one person I can think of that made aluminum low heads with the Ford cast into the head.

Ron, my Prus alloy head has the Ford script and Made in Canada. I added them. I made a little dam with plasticine for each word, and filled it with Devcon. Then i drew the lettering on the hardened Devcon and hand carved the lettering using an Exacto knife and my Dremel tool . It even has the casting date of the original iron head. Once painted, no-one has ever noticed it was there, let alone questioned the origins of the head.

Here is the guy in Michigan that has new hi compression aluminum heads with Ford script and made in usa. These are the Z combustion chambers. He states that a model t engine will develop approx 27 horse power with this head. The new head holds an additional quart of water. The head weighs 15 pounds. The price is $330 including shipping and boxing. The Ford script is nice and sharp and well defined. I just received my 2nd head from him and the quality is perfect. The machined head surface is just a din finish, which is the same spec that I use on Ferrari's and Subaru aluminum heads.

You won't be dissapointed!!

Wasn't it Ralph Zajicek who made the Z head? Perhaps Steve is a son/relative. Z heads have been available for a long time.

Allan, I would be interested in your work. Do you have pictures of how you made the "Made in Canada"?

Just asking, are the above mentioned heads low heads. I really don’t know. The OP has a 1915 T.

The only low head with Ford script that I know of is the Reeder Head. Out of production for decades now, they turn up in classified ads and at swap meets occasionally but getting really hard to find . I love mine.

Keith that was my thought but I mislabeled them as Reed, since corrected in my previous post, & you’re right it is a great head.

I had a Reeder head on my speedster, and it worked really well, until it blew a head gasket between now 2 and 3. The head has a large void in that location, which corresponds to nothing in the block. I had it plated/welded shut, and had the head surfaced. Never had another problem. A mate in New Zealand had exactly the same experience.

Vonau, I did not take pictures when doing the work. I copied the embossing from the original cast iron head that was on the motor, and included the casting date, just because I could!

I have a Z head on my '17. It does have "Ford" cast into it. The engine has been run on a dyno and achieved 27.32 HP at 1750 rpm with a NH carburetor, 22.65 HP at 1750 rpm with a Holley G.

The 'Z' Heads have always been high heads and had Ford Made In USA on them. Prus heads are high heads and are plain with no markings. They are the only heads being produced (in stock configuration) presently that I'm aware of.

"In stock configuration" If this is a reference to external appearance, they do look like standard heads, minus the lettering in some cases.

There is nothing stock about any of the combustion chambers. That is the whole purpose of their manufacture.

Allen, I was referring to external appearance. I have one of both heads and do know the combustion chambers are different.
