Front Camshaft Bearing Length

The front camshaft bearing (notched style ) needs to be babbitted and bored.
Also the front camshaft journal and thrust face also needs to be touched up by
grinding.
Can anyone tell me what the original length was so that I can determine what
the new reworked length would be ?

Thank You

John

I have a NOS bearing - I'll measure it up when I hit the shop.

Here’s a run down of ModelT specifications. I looked up T specs for the cam bearing and ran into it. https://www.macsautoparts.com/modelt_specs

This is something that should be included in the resources section on the MTFCA website.

Yes I know it’s Macs but they did make a handy reference guide. The MTFCA could do their own.

If I remember some suppliers used to include T information in their catalogs but most have quit doing it.

If your cam has been reground, chances are there is no heel left, check it. If that is the case you will need to install a thrust kit.

What can happen is the lobe can drop into the notch without the thrust kit that is installed between the cover and timing gear.
