"Don't take any wooden nickels." and,
"Don't turn out for any bridges !" Is this the feller who started that one ? What about the car? '09 or '10 ?

He must be hauling the mail and making good time. At that speed, you know you have to cool off the tires from time to time.

Thanks Rich. That brought a smile to my sour face.

It might take more than one horse to pull that car back up the bank.

It's likely a 1911 or 1912 with fore doors. nice photo of a predicament.
"We'll cross that bridge when we succumb to it".

Judging by the hole in the windshield looks like he wasn't wearing his seat belt either!

Probably hit a deep pothole....you know how those front radius rods behave on those early T's (reference earlier thread on the subject).

Looking at a paper map when he met the horse and swerved just in time to miss the horse and the bridge.

It is a 1911 model year. the arm rest of the front seat is curved.

Front wheels look to be bent in the same direction so tie rod is intact. Could be a broken wishbone caused the front axle to bend back and under? Jim Patrick

Has model 19 JB Headlights and model 85 JB sidelights, no flying ford on the radiator, mid 1911 or really early 12 I’d think.

Putting the car before the horse... or in this case, below the horse!

I would say it's likely a '09. No windshield, short radiator neck and winged radiator script would be right. The lip on the fender would make it late '09 or '10. the routing of the acetylene tube is clearly visible.

Well !! No radiator cross tube then. Thanks for pointing out that detail, Rich !! It really adds to my enjoyment of these old photos. I really appreciate the knowledge you and others share here !

It is a 1911. The panel on the rear door is smooth.

The body is a 1911, but has added front doors. Could be an early 12 made in 1911. The arm rest is curved. The two early 1912s I once owned (one has made in December 1911, the front seat arm rest, as I remember was changed to accomodate the doors.

The picture is not from the 1909 era however...the first belt loops on pants didn't come about until 1922 by Levi's on their 501 jeans.

John, you are correct that "Levi's" first appeared with belt loops in 1922. However, the gent in the photograph is not wearing jeans, and catalogs of men's wear from Macy's show belt loops on trousers as early as 1908. :D

Rich, you're so right on all accounts!
I guess what got me was the added 'Ford' script in the middle of the rad.
