Sometimes you just gotta go Super Heavy Extreame Duty

When I took the rear end apart on my '25 I expected to find trouble as there was NO OIL in the differential and there wasn't even a gasket in between the 2 halves.
Three of the four axle bearing sleeves came out with no problem with the tool the vendors sell but when trying to remove the forth this happened to the puller.
So not being daunted by FAILURE I built my own version of the puller out of scrap pipe and drill rod.
I don't know how it happened but the inner bearing sleeve on the left side had apparently spun inside the axle housing and had welded itself to the housing.

I figure that the axle had locked up and when it was repaired whoever repaired it couldn't get the bearing sleeve out so they left it in place and just put in a new bearing but your WAG is probably as good as mine. the grooves in the axle are substantial but I may be able to hone them and then knurl the inside then hone again to get to the original size.

You do realize those sleeves only like to "spin out" one way - they need to collapse on themselves according to the direction of the V-slot - just in case it was fighting you.

I was spinning it the correct way... when it broke loose it was a loud snap!

that finish in the axle tubes is pretty much standard.
