Some more Chickasha pics and finds

Here are a few pics I took while at Chickasha and also some of my finds. My two favorite finds are the speedster body and the Wakasha intake ... The speedster body may be the next speedster project. Anyone interested in another 6-year long project :) thats how long it took to do the last one I did on the forum. The pics of the tools are tools that were pre bought and delivered to Chickasha so I count them as Chickasha stuff. The last pic is some of the non T stuff that always seems to follow me home.

That looks like Steve in the last picture. No one else in the building. Did he sell anything?

I think Steve did pretty good. The last two pic are of our truck and trailer and Steve just before he started to load up. We left about 2:15 Saturday. Steve, Gene French, US, and a guy from Colorado were the last ones out. We shut the door. I have said for many many years that the vendors who leave early are the ones killing the meet. There were customers walking around Saturday wondering why everyone was gone or leaving. We sold about 600.00 Saturday of average items, (no big ticket sales) because everything I have to sell stays out for sale till the last minute. We had a great time, met and visited with a lot of folks, and
got to create some very wild looking loads on the mobility scooter and trailer :)

The Wakesha manifold is something I have also been looking for (sorry Scott) . It was mixed in with a bunch of stock Ford manifolds deep in a trailer. I found it after climbing up into the trailer, on top of the load, (with permission from the owner). The speedster body was buried in a trailer. You could only see part of it thru the other stuff. I could not find the owner but kept a eye on the trailer. They let everyone in early because of the rain and possible storm. So while Kathy was setting up I went out in the rain and as Steve said "freeze your butt off weather" to find the trailer with the speedster body on it. I found it but no one was there. Most of the outside vendors did not even try to set up Thursday. It took three more very very cold and rainy trips to the trailer before I found the owner. So now we are the owner of another speedster project. I wonder why my wife and other folks think I'm crazy. I guess they just do not understand :)

Donnie,
Those inclinometers are more than likely aircraft and VERY desirable to an antiquer needing to complete a period dash.

Mike - those were also marketed as "Grade-o-Meter" also for early automobiles.

It's always interesting to see the things you missed out on or just didn't see. Thanks for posting. "1/2 as big as it used to be" is still more than you can truly lay eyes on in 2-3 days. I wish people who can't justify it in their own minds wouldn't run it down for other folks. If you get out and hustle, there are PLENTY of good finds to be had, and as a seller, there is plenty of business to do. Even if you're a spectator, you're guaranteed to see a few items you've never seen before.

The Grade-O-meter or Incline-O-meter were also sold to automobile owners. I have seen them in some of my vintage camping catalogs. We do vintage camping and show our T and antique camping gear at modern overland camping expos or rendezvous. We will mount this grade-o-meter on our T to be one more of the things available back then that the modern generation of campers think is a new modern thing.
As to the water pump, he did not give it to me. He had a box full of them at 5.00 each. I already had all of them except the one pictured. He finally came by and said 1.00 each. So I bought the one I did not have and told him he was the best salesman at Chickasha to be able to get me to actually pay for a water pump.

What happened with the Cadillac demi-tonneau? Looks like an 11?

Robert, The Caddilac belonged to Mark Frymiller. It is one of his personal projects. It was for sale, but if it did not sell it was on its way to Florida. He moved to Florida after selling Model T Haven in Kansas at auction . I do not know if it sold or not.

Who is the vendor selling gas tanks? Who is the brass lamp vendor?

Donnie, That wasn’t the only Waukesha Ricardo intake at Chickasha. I bought one in lineup Thursday morning.

Kevin Prus is the new gas tank manufacturer - can't help with the brass.

Maybe someone will have the Ricardo intakes reproduced, I am sure alot of guys would buy them. There’s a lot of Ricardo heads out there that need them to be complete.

Adam. I also found my intake on a trailer in lineup. It was a trailer just before where the lines turned the corner and headed west toward the gate we entered. There is a good chance they were both on the same trailer. With so much to dig thru it's easy to miss things. Nice find
