Pedal boot set

Hi,
Some of the vendors offer Pedal Boot sets.
Large sets have a boot for the brake lever as well, but because I have RHD cars, I'm thinking of buying a small set (pedals only) for my Speedster.
Could you tell me...... how do they fix to the floor?
Or are they just fitted around the pedals and left to float about on the floor, depending on pedal movement?
Cheers,
Rob

Don't know how those boots would fit, maybe held by the floor mat?

Have this set of old aftermarket, 'Crawford' brand, pedal slip covers, these fit over the pedals and have a slit for the pedal shaft to help seal the area of the floorboard slots. The material is old, the burlap backing is flaking, but top side is still supple. And these have button fasteners on the backside, these are ANZO type, so you would need to find the proper male stud with wood screw mount to fit to the floorboard. PM if interested.

Since the old ones fasten this way, seems you could buy new and use snap fasteners to secure the pedal boots.

I tried a set of what we called pedal pants and was disappointed with the way they would bunch up under the pedals and sometimes make it hard to get all of the way into gear, so I took them out and used what they call a floor sweep that goes on the bottom of a door in your house. It is a little flat brush and I cut it to fit and put one on each side of the pedals,e brake and Ruckstell shifter, the pedal ect. moves between the bristles and does a great job of stopping the air from coming thru.

Interesting. A picture of this would be really helpful. I fashioned a contraption for this last summer with a rubber mat and while it was effective, it looked terrible.

This is the boot set at Langs.

My question is....how does it attach to the floor?
OR
Does it just clip over the pedal shafts and flop about with the pedal movement?

My Speedster already has rubber glued to the floorboards.

Rob

Would think the boots should be somewhat removable, as removing the floorboards for maintenance would be difficult. Perhaps snap fasteners on the edges.

Here are some old styles of pedal slot covers, the heavy rubber one is for the '26'-27 floorboard on the hand lever. It has tiny holes for nailing in place as it replaces the std. Ford plate.

I took these pictures out in the sun so they aren't the best but I think you can get the idea of what I did. This was done 12 years ago and has held up pretty good. I put the brushes on and then a layer of bubble wrap with foil on both sides and then my rubber mat. It's not pretty but neither is the car or the driver but it makes a huge difference in the hot on a hot day and cold on a cold day.
