The nut in the center of the steering wheel on my 11 keeps coming loose. When I try to tighten puts the steering wheel in a bind and hard to turn. How can I fix this? Art

Best guess. One or more of your repop parts has let you down. Common for the gear case cover to be too tall. A little shave may be needed.
The spider is being clamped to the cover. When you have the fit correct, the nut will be able to be tightened & the wheel will turn freely with minimal clearance.

It would help to post pictures of the threads on the shaft (wheel on & off if you can) & the nut to see their condition. Without those its all guesses

The nut is doing its job. There is not enough clearance between the cover & the spider.

Is the steering gear cover down as far as it should be - lots of threads showing (like John indicates). That would cause the steering wheel spider to interfere with threading the nut all the way down. The threads on the steering gear pinion look a bit worn too. What the spot on the threads inside the nut. they look a bit stretched too

Your cover is not on all the way as others have said. It needs to be on farther with the 6-32 lock screw at the top. Should ne a Knoch for the set screw to anchor into. This will keep the cover from unscrewing over time and all of the sudden you have the wheel in your hands and not connected to the steering column.

The cover may not go on any further. It is likely locked down on the gear shaft. The test is to remove the steering shaft & see if it goes down further. I believe you will find it will. The extra material would be properly removed from the gear case side. Not my first rodeo.

That is what I did to correct it. Thanks for the answers. Art
