Any idea what these small mounting brackets are for

Cleaning of another shelf and found these most are about 1 3/4" by about 1" Bob
they have a M or W embossed

Yes. Those are inside corner chair braces used to secure and provide support for chair backs, chair legs and arm rests. They are usually out of sight but are nice enough in appearance to be visible. I have a set of antique dining room chairs that are assembled using them. Jim Patrick

PS. Since these brackets were stored with Model T parts, perhaps they were going to be used to bolster the 90 degree joints on a wooden Model T frame, which they would be ideal for. Once the upholstery panels were installed no one would know they were there.
