FAN PULLEY ADJUSTMENT

Post by Professor Fate » Fri May 26, 2023 7:31 am

How much adjustment is there in a '26-"27 fan pulley? Im not sure if my belt s stretched or what... i can only snug up the belt, but not get it tight. I know it should only be snug as per the book.

The only adjustment is by revolving the offset cam adjustment the fan pulley is mounted to. When the fan pulley is as high as it will go, that is it. Belts come in various sizes. Perhaps you need a smaller belt. Jim Patrick

Rotating the adjustment lug of the '26-'27 eccentric, thru it's 180 degree range,
....raises or lowers the upper pulley approx. 1 inch.

As you look from the back, turn the adjustment clockwise. That will move the belt farther from the timer. This will prevent interference with the timer. The belt should be tight enough so that if you rest your hand on the fan blade, the fan will not turn, but you can still turn the blade with your hand if you push it just a little more than the hand resting on it. It should not be too tight. In fact if you tighten it too much the belt will actually come off, because of the high center of the pulley, the belt will move toward the center but if too tight it will slide off one side.
