A minor item, but I am curious, what others do; that is, paint the carb heat pipe or leave it bare?

I very rarely use those myself. Half my cars being speedsters one way or another didn't accommodate those very well. And with my non-show stock Ts, those restrict performance very slightly. Besides, modern "gasoline" doesn't need the added warmth to vaporize well.
That said, I think those should be painted black. And If I get around to putting oe on my 1915, it will be black.

Paint with high temp black.

Hi Temp semi-gloss or flat, works well for years. Oil and dust goes well with a '26 engine over time!

I painted it black and installed it.
