1924 TT C Cab

I recently found pictures of a 1924 TT C Cab that belonged to my great grandfather and the back of the truck looks different than any C cab I’ve ever seen. Instead of having an oval ring around the rear window, it has a diamond ring. The body looks like a Ford body except for the back of it. Was this a custom job? I am going to get it out of storage soon so I will post more pictures then but any help on identifying it is appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Jacob Mangold

Jacob,
That’s either a multimillion dollar TT prototype (

) or a non Ford metal C Cab. The panels don’t appear to be the correct size. Is the rear upper panel (the one enclosing the ‘diamond’ window) precisely 18.25” wide ? Are the side ‘C’ panels precisely 32” at the rear ? It may just be the minimal homemade top wood showing in Jacob’s pictures.

Looks like some fancy metal work to me.

I finally figured it out. Basically, I think that my great grandfather did not have this truck as long as he did the ‘26 standard Cab. I think he bought this truck as a project maybe. No one in my family seems to know. Anyways, I found pictures of the truck before it was restored. The picture was probably taken in about ‘85 or so. The top of the cab either looks rusted off or more likely cut off. My other great grandfather did all of the body work and wood working on the truck. He must have done it his own way. I must say, I like the diamond panel and the round window more than the stock setup.

That is pretty neat Jocab. Here in New Zealand all TTs were local built bodies, so it is hard to find any two the same, although 'similar' ones are around.
